Shatavari, Asparagus racemosus, is, as the name suggests, a member of the asparagus family. It is the most important herb in Ayurvedic formulas for the female reproductive system. Vata derangements are regarded as troublesome for women. "Wind" causes instability and dryness so moisturing or demulcent herbs are used to improve elasticity, libido, and fertility. Shatavari can be used during both puberty and menopause as well as at any time there is a desire to increase comfort in the reproductive system. It is suitable for use by men and children as well as women.

Female Plus

Female Plus, 60 capsules

This is an Ayurvedic product for women with menopausal mood and energy fluctuations: it works on an emotional as well as physiological basis. Maca Magic: HRT Compound, 2 oz.

HRT liquid compound works by providing the hypothalamic-pituitary complex with a unique set of nutrients. Studies show these nutrients may help the body to regulate its own rhythms and hormonal needs. Maca works in a different way for most women than other phytogenic herbs like black cohosh, dong q’uai and licorice root, which provide phytoestrogens. It is loaded with Maca alkaloids and specifically selected herbs that are known to support the healthy function of the endocrine system*. Maca itself does not contain any hormones. Instead, studies show it contains a unique set of nutrients that assist the endocrine system in the regulation of healthy hormone production with its adaptogenic properties. The endocrine system is a collection of organs that secrete hormones into the circulatory system for transport to target organs. The major endocrine glands include the pineal gland, pituitary gland, pancreas, ovaries, testes, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, hypothalamus, gastrointestinal tract and adrenal glands.

Myrrh gum has a long history of use as both a medicine and perfume as well as incense. It is aromatic but intensely bitter. Its use in Ayurvedic medicine is similar, but it is processed differently. In Western medicine, myrrh is used both internally and externally as an antiseptic. Red Clover Extract, 2 oz.`
Trifolium pratense

Traditionally, red clover has been used to address some of the side effects of menopause. The flowering tops contain isoflavones (mostly genistein and daidzein) which some studies suggest have an estrogenic effect, but others deny this. It is considered safe for use by breast cancer patients who are post-menopause but the jury is not in on pre-menopausal persons. It is often used by post-menopausal women to reduce the risk of bone loss (osteoporosis) because the herb is rich in calcium and magnesium as well as vitamin C and niacin. Red clover is a blood purifier and is the main ingredient in Sundance Elixir, our version of the Hoxsey Tonic. It is generally recommended for melanoma patients since studies indicate it inhibits B16 melanoma cells. It is also often used to reduce the risk of prostate cancer.

Usnea Extract, 2 oz.
Usnea longissima

Usnea, sometimes called Old Man"s Beard, is a lichen that grows on trees in virtually every part of the world. It has significant immune enhancing properties and is considered by many as a substitute for antibiotics, but it is regarded as both antibacterial and antiviral. This statement always needs qualifying because natural remedies are very seldom "anti" anything since they work by increasing immunity rather than destroying pathogens directly. They do this by providing nutrients for white blood cells. Traditionally, usnea is considered to be immune enhancing and antifungal. It is safe and can be combined with other immune herbs such as echinacea. It is used mainly for sinus and respiratory relief as well as gynecological protection.

Contains: Extract of Usnea longissima Thallus in Organic Alcohol, Distilled Water, and Vegetable Glycerin.
