Galangal Extract, 2 oz.
Alpinia officinarum

Galangal is both a culinary and medicinal herb, related to ginger but with a distinct taste. It was the favorite herb of Hildegard of Bingen and her Abbey still owns plantations in Thailand for growing this fine herb. It is warming and is a fine digestive aid. It can also be considered by people suffering from candidiasis.

Alcohol: 24-26%

Contains: extract of Alpinia officinarum rhizome in Distilled Water, Organic Alcohol, and Vegetable Glycerin.

Gentian Extract

Gentian Extract, 2 oz.
Gentiana lutea

Gentian is a popular digestive bitter. It is an ingredient in the famous Angostura Aromatic Bitters. It is used to stimulate the appetite and promote production of gastric secretions. As such, it is often used to overcome both anorexia and cachexia. but some traditional uses include topical applications on skin tumors.

Daniel Mowbry, author of The Scientific Validation of Herbal Medicine, adds a highly interesting note: "Gentian root increases the sensitivity of many glands and organs to the effect of adrenalin."

Alcohol: 45%

Ginger Extract, 2 oz.
Zingiber officinalis

Ginger is a wonderful culinary as well as medicinal herb. It is probably the number one choice for nausea, motion sickness, and indigestion, but it also aids metabolism of cholesterol and thus lowers the risk of complications such as high blood pressure and arterial congestion.

Ginkgo Biloba Extract, 2 oz.
Ginkgo Biloba

When taken orally three times a day, 40 mg. of Ginkgo biloba provided recovery workers at Chernobyl protection from radiation sickness. Use by the liquidators was continued for two months and provided roughly seven months of protection.

Panax ginseng

Ginseng is one of the most famous adaptogenic herbs and has been used for thousands of years in Oriental medicine as a tonic, performance enhancer, and more recently for its usefulness in managing blood sugar levels in type II diabetes as well as lowering the risk of cancer. It is an antioxidant and, though warming, has anti-inflammatory properties. It is sometimes used alone or in combination with herbs such as Ginkgo biloba to improve memory and support energy during periods of intense study, such as during exam season.

Extract of Gokshura Seeds - Tribulus terrestris

Gokshura Extract, 2 oz.
Tribulus terrestris

Gokshura is used almost worldwide. In Ayurveda, it enjoys a reputation as a tonic herb for the urinary tract and kidneys. It is soothing and promotes the proper flow of urine. It is also regarded as a male tonic herb, and studies in Bulgaria are often cited that suggest it aids male libido and performance. It is also a tonic herb for women. It is relaxing and balancing for all doshas.

Gotu Kola Extract, 2 oz.
Centella asiatica

Brahmi supports the mind and nervous system, helping to improve memory and sustain intellectual effort. The leaves are considered to be very sattvic, i.e., pure as opposed to dull or stimulating. Gotu kola aids restful sleep and is a natural blood purifier. It was used by Machamuni Siddhar for his kalpa. In a way, brahmi is tridoshic because it reduces excess vata in the mind, is cooling to pitta, and decongesting to kapha.

Graviola Extract, 2 oz.
Annona muricata

Annona muricata leaf contains specific acetogenins that have been reported to be selectively toxic to the following type of tumor cells: lung carcinoma cell lines; human breast solid tumor lines; prostate adenocarcinoma; pancreatic carcinoma cell lines; colon adenocarcinoma cell lines; liver cancer cell lines; human lymphoma cell lines; and multi-drug resistant human breast adenocarcinoma. The mode of action appears to be that of inhibiting enzymatic activities that only occur in malignant cells.

Alcohol: 40%

Contains: extract of Annona muricata leaf in distilled water, organic grain alcohol, and pure vegetable glycerin.

Guaiacum Extract, 2 oz.
Guaiacum officinale

Guaiacum has been popular since the sixteenth century when it was introduced from the Caribbean as a remedy for diseases of the reproductive system. It is an ingredient in most formulas for spirochete infections but is only rarely used alone. It is an important ingredient in the famous Compound Syrup Scrophularia of the historic Eclectic physician Dr. Eli Jones, sold by Sacred Medicine Sanctuary as Seneca Elixir. Guaiacum is acquiring a reputation for efficacy with rheumatoid arthritis and tonsillitis, probably because it addresses underlying conditions, i.e., causal factors such as microscopic organisms that may be associated with better known conditions.

Guduchi Extract, 2 oz.
Tinospora cordifolia

Guduchi is one of the most famous detoxifying herbs in the Ayurvedic pharmacopeia. It crosses the blood-brain barrier and improves cognitive functioning and recall, but its main claim to fame is its power to reduce ama (toxins) and even to protect the body from the harmful effects of toxic substances. It enjoys the status of a rasayana or rejuvenative herb and was traditionally used for three years in order to promote longevity and imperviousness to toxins.

Guduchi can be used long-term to reduce symptoms related to excess pitta and to kindle agni, i.e. substituting toxic fire with purifying fire.

Guggul Extract, 2 oz.
Commiphora mukul

Guggul is very similar to myrrh and is widely used in Ayurveda to increase metabolism. Being thermogenic, it is slightly deranging to pitta but very useful for kapha disorders, including obesity and congestion. It is also used to regulate the thyroid and is considered beneficial for vata types unless the patient is suffering from spasms or hiccups. It should not be used during pregnancy. Guggul reduces stickiness and is therefore considered preventative for people at risk of strokes and heart attacks.

Guggul resin is obtained by making cuts in the tree stems and bark. The gum that flows is high in minerals which is why this remedy has been assigned to ashti dhatu. Excess lipids are removed and the minerals are used to regenerate bones and teeth.

Alcohol: 89-91%

Contains: 1:1 extract of Commiphora mukul resin in Organic Alcohol and Distilled Water.

Hawthorn Berry Glycerite, 2 oz.
Crataegus monogyna

Hawthorn berries are edible and often are made into jams. The fruit is rich in bioflavonoids so hawthorn berries are antioxidants as well as good for the heart and circulatory system. The preparation as a glycerite adds shelf life and convenience to what would otherwise be a medicinal food. Anyone who wishes to take a long-term tonic to support the heart can easily take hawthorn alone or in combination with other herbs.

Contains: Crataegus monogyna, Berry in distilled water and vegetable glycerin.

He Shou Wu Extract, 2 oz.
Polygonum multiflorum

He Shou Wu or Fo Ti is a famous Chinese longevity herb. It is used to prevent premature graying of the hair as well as to regenerate the body. The herb aids circulation and is good for the heart and blood. It also soothes mucous membranes, especially in the gastrointestinal system. It is therefore deeply supportive of proper digestion and assimilation. It is mildly stimulating of peristalsis so it also gently improves elimination and gradually supports deep cleansing. Additionally, it is immune boosting and improves male libido and fertility.

Alcohol: 24-26%

Holy Basil Extract, 2 oz. - Stress Reduction

Holy Basil Extract, 2 oz.
Ocimum sanctum

"Tulsi" means "the incomparable one" and holy basil is one of the most revered herbs in India. It is a rasayana herb, often used to calm, but it has the same high eugenol content of famous analgesics. Tulsi may therefore be a COX-2 inhibitor. It has also been found to lower blood sugar and cholesterol.

Houttuynia Extract, 2 oz.
Houttuynia cordata

Houttuynia is an edible herb widely used in Southeast Asian cuisine but found also as far north as Korea. It is known medicinally as the poison destroying plant but its action seems more antimicrobial than detoxifying. For this reason, research has been done on a wide variety of conditions ranging from herpes to Lyme disease an SARS. With more research, we can expect to understand the best uses, but it does seem to help in the regulation of blood sugar and hence also in fluid balance and weight management.

Indian Sarsaparilla Extract, 2 oz.
Hemidesmus indicus

Anantamul is a spreading plant that is cooling to pitta. It moves throughout the body, removing toxins and cleansing. It stimulates the flow of bile and increases urinary output. It is particularly effective for the digestive system, joints, nerves, and reproductive system.

It is also used to cleanse the mind of negative emotions, especially pitta emotions like anger and irritability.

Japanese Knotweed, 2 oz
Polygonum cuspidatum

Japanese knotweed is presently prized mainly for its very high reservatrol content, but in traditional Chinese medicine, it is used mainly to detoxify the blood and improve circulation. Recent studies suggest that Polygonum cuspidatum is antimicrobial and antimutagenic. It is also an excellent antioxidant. Even more recently, Japanese knotweed has been widely used by Lyme-infected patients to reduce damage to the nervous system due to toxins. It is regarded as more useful against the co-infections than the spirochete itself.

Jatoba has demonstrated antifungal as well as antibacterial properties against a wide range of molds, yeasts, and microorganisms such as E. coli, Pseudomonas, and Staphylococcus. Clinicians are discovering that it is useful in cases of cystitis and prostatitis, often not for the reasons thought: these conditions may be associated with fungal infections. Jatoba is non-toxic, but it has a blood sugar lowering effect and should be monitored with patients with blood sugar regulation issues.

Curcuma zedoaria

Zedoary is a white turmeric that is often used in Chyawanprash and other Ayurvedic preparations. Like other members of the ginger family, it is used both in cooking and medicine. It is anti-inflammatory and analgesic and is often used externally for wound healing, but its function in longevity tonics is to support the female reproductive system, urinary tract, and protect against ulcers due to stress. Its strength should not be underestimated: it is an antivenom for cobra toxins.

Andrographis paniculata

This intensely bitter herb promotes healthy flow of bile and respiratory comfort. It clears the throat, head, and lungs while simultaneously boosting immunity. Though sometimes considered a liver herb, it is also regarded as an immune herb, but studies suggest it is highly specific for both typhoid and fungal infections. There is a lot of research on this herb, everything from antivenoms to immune deficiency conditions.

Kapi Kacchu Extract, 2 oz.
Mucuna pruriens

Mucuna pruriens is a legume and the extract is made from seeds. It is the most famous herb for Parkinson's disease, a condition that was described in ancient times in India. However, due to its high L-DOPA content, it is also becoming a favorite by lucid dreamers. It is a nervine and supports transmission of signals by the nervous system. It is also used in India to enhance sperm count, induce ovulation, and overcome stubborn sterility of both men and women.

Alcohol: 49-51%

Kava Kava Extract, 2 oz.
Piper methysticum

Kava or awa as it is called in Hawaii is consumed throughout the Pacific region. It tastes a bit like novacaine and is numbing. It was used before battles in Hawaii so that warriors would not be afraid of injuries. It also promotes euphoria and is thus used socially in some Polynesian cultures. It is not addictive but many people experience a slight mood elevation for up to 48 hours after consumption, usually immediately after drinking water. The effects then wear off completely. According to some kahunas, awa root will help to regenerate damaged nerve endings. There is no question but that kava kava is a nervine, but it is also a unique antidepressant due to its tendency to elevate mood through a sense of convivial happiness.
