Houttuynia Extract, 2 oz.
Houttuynia cordata
Houttuynia is an edible herb widely used in Southeast Asian cuisine but found also as far north as Korea. It is known medicinally as the poison destroying plant but its action seems more antimicrobial than detoxifying. For this reason, research has been done on a wide variety of conditions ranging from herpes to Lyme disease an SARS. With more research, we can expect to understand the best uses, but it does seem to help in the regulation of blood sugar and hence also in fluid balance and weight management.
Alcohol:
Contains: Extract of Houttuynia cordata aerial parts, distilled water, and organic alcohol.

Licorice Extract, 2 oz.
Glycyrrhiza glabra
Licorice is a very popular herb with a long history of use as a medicinal plant. It is strongly anti-viral and is being used extensively in Japan for the treatment of viral hepatitis and in China for tuberculosis. In Ayurveda, it is used primarily as a lung tonic due to its demulcent effects. In moderation, licorice improves digestion and relieves ulcers as well as chronic bowel problems such as Crohn's disease. Licorice is an ingredient in many Chinese formulations where it supports harmony between the other herbs and minimizes the risk of allergic reactions. It is also an ingredient in the Hoxsey tonic which we produce under the name of Sundance Elixir.
Alcohol: 24-26%

Schisandra Extract, 2 oz.
Schisandra chinesis
Schisandra is one of the truly famous adaptogenic herbs. These herbs "normalize" stress reactions so that regardless of the starting point, i.e., hyper or hypo, the energies are brought into more balance. The berries are particularly prized for their liver benefits, and like many liver herbs, they support beautiful skin. They are considered to aid both mental and sexual function . . . well, this is truly an adaptogen. Studies suggest that schisandra buffers the stress of a wide variety of insults to the body, everything from frostbite to heavy metal exposure.
Alcohol: 24-26%
Contains: Schisandra chinesis berry, in distilled water, organic alcohol, and vegetable glycerin.
