Mucura - (leaf) - Petiveria alliacea (Phytolaccaceae) - A wild, weedy plant that smells like garlic when crushed, it is native from Mexico to South America. It is used widely for many purposes. It is employed in respiratory conditions in gastrointestinal conditions, for nervous conditions, as antispasmodic and for toothaches, anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic, abortive and for fevers, against pancreatic cancer, antidysentery, childrens' colds, migraine headaches, skin diseases, bites and stings, Afro-brasilian magical rituals.
